Okay. How do I start this?
I started reading Throne of Glass back in 2014, when only ToG and Crown of Midnight were out. I instantly fell in love with the characters, the world and the story. Four years and countless pages later, I can’t believe we’re at the end of the road and the story is done. I honestly have never cried so much while reading a book, as I cried during Kingdom of Ash. Which proved to me that this series is much more important to me than I thought. Despite its flaws and issues, it’s a series that showed me some truly amazing characters, especially strong women who fight for happiness and for hope. Because that is the underlining theme in this whole series: hope. Hope for a better world and a better future. And that’s something we’re all striving for.
I will never be able to put into words the feelings that I’m going through now. I’m tearing up just trying to express everything that’s in my heart. I don’t know how to explain the connection I have with these characters and this world. Aelin, Chaol, Dorian, Manon, Rowan, Yrene, Aedion, Lysandra - these are characters that will stay with me for a long, long time. Reading about their dreams, struggles, grief, heartbreak, joy, laughter, sorrow and happiness - this changed something in me and made a mark on the person I am.
This series means SO goddamn much to me. And I am truly happy that I was able to live through every word and every page. And see the story till its end.
“Once upon a time, in a land long since burned to ash, there lived a young princess who loved her kingdom …”
